2019 Workshop Schedule

Date Instructor Project / Suppy List
April 10 Pam Hadfield Red White and Bloom Flag - A Great Seasonal Patriotic Wall Hanging.  This is easy applique or even quicker using a raw edge technique.
May 15 Allyson D Allen Radical Raw Edge Applique
June 12 Linda Sullivan Cut Loose and Fancy Free Piecing Workshop - Students will learn this liberating, cut loose and fancy free style of piecing - no exact seams, no templates. no measurements and best of all, no stress - just slash, sew and go!  While making this retro 12” ModTV block, Linda will guide students through her unconventional, free form and most importantly, fun style of improv piecing, sharing lots of tips and tricks along the way.  She’ll also demo ways to finish off this little project into the full quilt of the same name, as a wallhanging with fussy cut fabric or as a memory pillow project using photo fabric and a favorite family picture in the TV screen.
July 10 TBD
Aug 14 Leah Zieber Orphans and Aliens - Creating Quilts From Space Junk - This NEW workshop allows students to rid themselves of all those orphan blocks and UFO's (aka - those Aliens living in your closets) and create a truly UNIQUE and wonderful quilt - large or small. Each student creates a one-of-a-kind quilt and finally leaves a workshop with a finished top!
Sep 11 Nancy Ota Sashiko - This is a hand embroidery technique that can be used in quilts and garments.
Oct 9 Rami Kim  Octagon Play - This workshop is a sweet revenge to high-school-geometry classes (remember the days of hair-pulling?). You are going to have fun folding octagons with beautiful fabrics. One more 'Chopkey' project from Rami's childhood memories will put a smile on your face. Perfect for stashed scraps and fat-quarters.
Nov 13 Susan Wade  Adventure in Fabric Collage (Fish) - If you loved to color, cut and paste as a little girl, you will love this class!  Using Free-style fabric collage, we will create a wall hanging anywhere form elegant to whimsical in style... it is all about you!!!
