Presently the Guild is working on more quilts “Quilts for Children” See attached patterns for quick and easy quilts. We need children and teen size (twin). Here are some patterns but feel free to use any patterns. Patterns: Amish Bar; Center Pannel; Checkerboard; Four Block Brick; Free Pattern; Rail Fence Child; Rail Fence Teen & Strippie . If you would like to make pillowcases here are the instructions.
We are again working on Christmas stockings, so please print the pattern and start making them. There is a greater need this year!!
Quilts for Veterans are looking for a person to pick up the Banner. Judy Moore has done a wonderful job for years and we thank her. Cal-Vet Retirement Facility in Long Beach received 49 quilts; 35 Christmas stockings and 21 pillow cases in December 2010. In January 2010, we delivered 44 quilts and 27 wheelchair caddies to the Long Beach Veteran’s Hospital. So if you wish to give back to our soldiers and make quilts please do so. Also if you are looking to help with this please see Sandy Milo.
A Big Thank you to Kat Benne; Cindy Davis; Gertie Hansen and Judy Moore for all their efforts (and thank you to those who have done a wonderful job before them)!!!
We need all members of the Guild to make sure this continues!!!!!
So get busy with all the fabric you have in your stash!!!
